Current security methods in the industrial sector are unfortunately becoming increasingly outdated and vulnerable. Industrial companies are characterised by the fact that while the machinery used for production is constantly being improved, little attention is paid to the security infrastructure. Network infrastructures are typically built using VPN-based security services, which have proven vulnerabilities due to the 0D flaw. In contrast, the Enclosed Factory product family provides a tailor-made, state-of-the-art solution to take the security infrastructure used in industry to the next level. From a cyber security perspective, we can ensure that sensitive data or even software is properly protected.

Protecting production chain control software

The DGEIPS system ensures the protection of the production chain control software. This security solution is designed to fit into networks without disrupting previously used configurations.

The DGEIPS system ensures the protection of the production chain control software. This security solution is designed to fit into networks without disrupting previously used configurations. DGEIPS creates visibility and rock-solid cyber protection for legacy systems and uninstalled devices that form the backbone of the production line, ensuring continuous operation. In addition, the network responsible for the production chain is equipped with a new generation DGEF firewall, which ensures network segmentation and segregation by dividing the network into different control zones. Unfortunately, it is quite common for the control of the production lines to be performed by outdated operating systems and old vulnerable software running on them. Protecting these systems by taking advantage of “lockdown”, by controlling system resources, limiting application access and execution to the minimum necessary for day-to-day operations, can go a long way to preventing malware from entering and executing without relying on pattern files to attack resources.
